12th Scale Brownies

Yesterday I baked some real brownies and it inspired me to create some miniature ones  too!

I've never really paid attention to how long it takes me to make miniature food so I decided to time myself making these brownies. Surprisingly, it took me an hour and a half to make eleven of them! The time sure flies when you're having fun!

Recent Miniatures

Today I'd like to show you the most recent miniature sweets I've made, cinnamon rolls and cookies! I know my dollhouse family is very happy that I've been making them so many tiny delicious foods, they've been enjoying them very much!

These cinnamon rolls are hot out of the oven oozing with warm cinnamon in every bite and have delicious icing dribbled all over. Of course, you'd have to be a 1:12 scale dollhouse person to eat these though!

Next are some crisp sugar cookies with different colored frosting and sprinkles on top!

Sketches

These are just a few sketches I've made that I thought I'd share with you today!

I used a purplish colored pen and markers for this sketch of a cupcake.

I used micron pens and prisma color pencils for this little unicorn!

and this is some type of friendly creature selling apples that he picked himself. Watercolors and micron pens in my sketchbook.

Minature Sandwiches

These past two days I've been working on some polymer clay miniature sandwiches! So far I've made BLT's (bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwiches) And some with just lettuce on them.

Here are two BLT's and one lettuce sandwich freshly made and ready to be eaten by someone very tiny!

I absolutely loved photographing these! So much fun.

The lettuce was so hard to make, I had to be really careful not to rip it while transferring it to my baking mat!

And this is what my workspace looked like while I was making them...So messy!

Minature Cake

This is a miniature cake I have finished sculpting recently. I've probably said this before, but I just love making tiny cakes! It has five layers, white, light pink, and dark pink. The creamy frosting is spread on thickly and probably has a slight strawberry flavor to it...Mmm.

I got a new camera for Christmas and I am SO much happier with the photos it takes! I can get really close to my miniatures now without it going blurry.

Sweet Themed Charms.

This is a short post showing you what I've been making lately out of polymer clay, so here are a couple of sweet themed charms that I've made recently!

I made this realistic cookie that is fully shaded and textured on the front and back of the charm.

This chocolate ice-cream cone.

This cream puff with chocolate drizzled on the top.

And a chocolate malt with whipped cream on top!

Lollipop Charm Tutorial

Welcome to my first tutorial! This tutorial is about how to make a cute Popsicle charm! This method works really well for me but there are tons of different ways to make charms.

Tools/materials needed:
 - Polymer clay in the colors red, green, blue, pink, yellow, white, and a little bit of black
 - A cutting tool of some sort
 - Toothpick
 - White acrylic paint
 - glaze
-brush (For glazing)

I use a mix of Fimo and Premo clays, the colors I'm using for this project are: Fimo soft red, Premo green, Fimo soft blue, Premo blush, Premo sunshine, Fimo soft white, and Fimo soft black.

Step 1:
 The first thing I do is role out all my clay colors (besides the black) into a long thin snake.

Step 2:
 Next I gently squish all the colors together and start to role them together. Also twisting it until I get something like the next photo:

  Step 3:
Now I start to role it into a spiral.

Step 4:
 I keep rolling until I get the size lollipop you want, then cut the rest of the snake of.


To make the lollipop stick I cut a toothpick in half and insert the pointy end into my lollipop.

 Step 5:
Next I role two tiny balls of black clay and flatten them slightly for the eyes. For the mouth I role out a little piece of black clay into a snake and bend it into a U shape. I put these were I want the face to be on the lollipop and press down gently so they stay.


Step 6:
Next I add an eye pin or a head pin before baking if I want the lollipop to be a charm! After its baked I use my white acrylic paint and a toothpick or a dotting tool to add a white circle to each of the eyes for a cute effect! Then I usually glaze my charm to add a nice shiny finish.
