This week I
made an Olaf charm from the movie Frozen. Frozen is my all time
favorite Disney princess movie and Olaf is a cute snowman who dreams of
summer! I took photos of the painting process for a simple tutorial. :)
I started off by sculpting a base out of white polymer clay and stuck a head-pin through so I can attach it to a necklace chain later.
I then painted the background with blue acrylic paint and painted the outline of Olaf with white paint.
Here I added some shading around his mouth and cheeks with a light grey acrylic paint mix (white with a tiny bit of black) .
Here I just added his tooth with white paint and shaded a bit around it.
In this photo I painted on his eyes and eyebrows, using black acrylic paint for the eyes and a burnt umber/brown for the brows.
Here I added his carrot nose and twig hair, using the brown I used for his eyebrows mixed with a little black for the hair and a mix of yellow and red paint for his nose.
I finished off with a couple coats of Martha Stewart Crafts high gloss finish on the front and back and it's finished! :)
What a fun piece!
